Together, this configuration transforms the
campsite into a small village centered around
the HeroCamper. The children rotate sleeping
spots during the holiday so that everyone
experiences each option. Daily discussions
about who sleeps where are part of the
routine, adding an element of fun and
fairness to the structure.
“It is not only the camper.
It is the combination that
makes it possible for us to
fit 8 people into a rather
small living space”, says
Arie and laughs.
Adapting to Heat, Rain and
Altitude
Weather is not a detail in the Griffioen family’s
travels. It is a central character. In the south
of France near Mont Ventoux, temperatures
reached 40 degrees Celsius. Shade became
essential, and the 270 degree awning from
Buschwakka supported by the XXL awning
from Moby mountain created extra space for
shadow and protection against rain. Later
that same summer in the Alps at 1300 meters
near La Plagne, rain and cooler air defined
their days.
With side panels, careful positioning against
the wind and evenings around the campfire,
the family adjusted their setup to match
the environment. Rather than resisting the
weather, they worked with it.

The Explorer
Closeness as a Strength
Limited space naturally brings people closer
together. When the weather turns rainy or
cold, some children gather in the rooftop tent
while others stay inside the HeroCamper.
They read, play board games or simply sit
together. The compact environment does not
create tension. Instead, it reinforces
cooperation and shared routines.
The family has discovered that comfort is not
only about space. It is about feeling secure,
being together and knowing that everyone
has a role in making the setup function.
Freedom Through Mobility
The ability to pack up and move relatively
quickly compared to a traditional tent trailer
has changed the way the family experiences
holidays. Staying two or three days and then
continuing on is no longer a theory but a
practical reality. HeroCamper supports their
wish for a holiday in motion, where mood,
landscape and weather can influence the
route.
For the Griffioen family, HeroCamper is more
than a camper. It is the foundation of a mobile
lifestyle during the summer months. It proves
that even a family of eight can travel flexibly
when creativity and structure go hand in
hand.
