HeroCamper has always been about more than the camper
itself. It’s about freedom, simplicity, and the people who choose
to live a little more outside. Few embody that spirit better than
Peder Lisberg, the founder of HeroCamper Community
Denmark—a highly active Facebook group created by and for
Danish HeroCamper owners and future owners.
We sat down with Peder to talk about why he
started the community, what defines the Danish
HeroCamper crowd, and why customer-tocustomer inspiration is one of the brand’s
strongest assets
Family holidays took them to campsites in
France, city trips, holiday apartments, and
hotels. But when their daughters eventually left
home, Peder and his wife began looking for a
new way to explore the world—one that fit a
different phase of life.
From trunk Tetris to total freedom
Peder’s HeroCamper journey began the same
way as for many families: with a very full car.
“For years, we traveled as a family with a tightly
packed car,” he explains. “Roof box on top,
family tent, air mattresses, pump, table, chairs,
grill, gas bottle… and then trying to squeeze in
some clothes. It was pure trunk Tetris.”

“That’s when we started looking at small
campers. And I really mean looking. I hyperfocused on features, accessories, dimensions,
weight, and possibilities. In the end, we
completely fell for the HeroCamper.”
