Check your camper before you
leave
Think about power and water
without obsessing
Spend 10 minutes in the driveway. Turn on
the lights. Check the power. Look at gas
and water. Make sure the hitch is properly
secured.
Charge while you drive. Refill water when
you can. Keep an eye on usage.
Bring water with you if you need to, but
consider filling the tank when you arrive
instead of before you leave. Driving with
a full water tank adds extra weight, and
sometimes it makes more sense to top it
up closer to your destination.
You do not need to be extreme about it,
but the more self sufficient you are, the
freer you feel. There is something special
about being able to stay a little longer
when a place just feels right.
It is much more fun to discover a small
issue at home than on a dark windy
campsite. A good trip starts before you
even turn the key.

Leave it better than you found it
Take your trash with you. Even the stuff
that is not yours.
Give people a bit of space. Park like you
would want others to park next to you.
Turn the music down if someone else came
for the silence.
We all just want the same thing out here.
A bit of freedom and a bit of peace. If we
take care of the places we use, we can
keep coming back to them. It is really that
simple.

Keep the food simple
Camping food does not need to be a
project.
One pan. Few ingredients. Less washing
up. More time to relax and enjoy the meal.
Slow down on purpose
Give everything a 昀椀xed place
Space is limited in a camper, so it does not
take much before things feel messy. When
you cannot find what you need, frustration
builds fast.
Cables in one spot. Shoes in one spot.
Small stuff in one spot.
It sounds simple, but it makes a real
difference. When everything has a place,
the camper feels calmer, more organized
and a lot more enjoyable to live in.
Prep a little at home so you can actually sit
down and enjoy a proper meal when you
arrive. Good food that makes you feel full
and satisfied beats an overcomplicated
plan every time.
You do not need to squeeze three
destinations into one weekend.
If you have the space, an air fryer is
honestly a game changer. It’s easy, fast
and surprisingly versatile — perfect for
crispy potatoes, vegetables, leftovers or
even breakfast the next morning.
Bring a good book. Pack a board game.
Talk to each other. It sounds simple, but it
changes the whole experience. Everything
feels more real when you are actually
present instead of scrolling on your phone.
And bring snacks. Always.
Often it is not the big view that stays with
you, but the quiet moment in between.
Camper life is not about ticking boxes. It is
about being there together.
Nothing kills the mood faster than everyone being hungry at the same time.
Stay a little longer. Make coffee.
Sit without checking the time.
